One of our first projects available to purchase is this beautiful Louis XV style giltwood cabriolet armchair. This type of chair was one of the most popular designs of this period, being easy to move, making it perfect for conversation.

Recognisable features of this style are the cabriolet legs displaying a gentle S-curve, the stylised scallop shell at the cresting and the top of the seat rail, and the trailing floral and acanthus details.

 

Structurally sound but in need of full re-upholstery, once restored, this will be a stunning piece for anyone that loves the curves and decorative detail of the mid-18th century Rococco style.
