Following my attainment of a First Class BA (Hons) in the Conservation of Stone, Wood and Decorative Surfaces, I now work as a freelance conservator. I have chosen to specialise in gilded surfaces as my love of the craft of gilding is what inspired me to change my career path.
I also have an accredited qualification in modern and traditional upholstery, gaining a distinction at all levels, over 16 years of sewing experience, and have run several businesses since 2008.

My love of history and heritage, along with the handcrafted skills I have gained over the years has led me to set up Learoyd Gilding where I can play a small part in helping to preserve and restore some of the wonderful objects, surfaces and buildings that give us a view into how life used to be in ages past.
